OUR STORY
Where it started
Goldmark was founded in 2013 by Mark Lehmann — a beer enthusiast who'd been brewing since he was eighteen, and an ex-biochemical analyst who brought real rigour to the craft. What began as a passion project grew into a 10 BBL brewery turning out bold cask beers and seasonal specials for bars, restaurants, cafés and real-ale-led independent pubs across the south coast, picking up multiple CAMRA awards along the way.
Since 2014 we've proudly sponsored the Yapton Beer Festival for the Western Sussex branch of CAMRA, and Bognor Regis Beer Festival since 2022. Beer and music have always run side by side here — many of our beers carry music-themed names, a nod to Mark's years touring in rock bands before he swapped stages for stainless steel.
Mark gets to meet some legends in the business including American brewing legend Karl Ockert.
The brewery can make bespoke beers for music events, bands and promotional beer for companies and corporate events. One memorable example is Horse Piss Lager for Modern Toss.
In 2026, Mark handed the brewery on to Ethan and Spence and stepped back from the business entirely to do what he'd always done alongside it: play music. He's since been re-signed to a label and is back out on tour. Everything Goldmark does still carries his fingerprints — not least the music-themed beer names — but the brewery itself is firmly in Ethan and Spence's hands now.
